Metaphorically speaking, the Virtual Entrepreneurial Academy is ‘under construction’. We are not building an actual building or campus; that would be rather inefficient in that we will be serving clients globally. Thus far the plans have been drawn, the site has been prepared and most of the foundation has been built. Following is a tour of the Academy based on the current plans and renderings… enjoy the tour.
Introduction
The Entrepreneurial Academy (as we currently calling it) will be the most comprehensive resource for current business owners or those interested in starting a business available. Our first target market will be pre-retiree’s and early stage retirees who have an interest in learning more about what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur later in life. Thereafter the resources will be expanded to serve all people with an interest in any entrepreneurial pursuit. We will shy away from the tech start up realm in that there are already tremendous resources available to that segment via localized entities.
Assessment
Starting out within an assessment section the user will be asked a series of questions to determine their current level of knowledge related to business ownership. We find that many people feel they understand how business works from their many years’ experience working for an employer – this is often the beginning of their downfall. The assessment will determine just where in the learning process they should enter and make a recommendation that is a balance between not wasting time or money learning what they already know and not starting someone in over their head.
Courses
Courses or sections will follow a path beginning with an entry level start and continue up to and including graduate level learning with basic legal knowledge available as a tangential study area. None of these courses are accredited and no ‘credits’ will be offered. This is not a program designed to earn a degree. This is a program designed to disseminate practical, useful knowledge in an efficient and cost effective manner.
A person using the Academy will be afforded the ability to choose from the available courses or sections via an ala carte style option as well. They can review the individual subjects and find ones that are of specific interest to them only paying for what they choose.
A private area will be available for Academy participants to communicate with each other and also to ask questions of seasoned entrepreneurs who will be monitoring and or alerted to the conversations and questions being discussed.
